Compass Lexecon has been ranked again in the top “Elite” tier of competition economics consulting firms by the Global Competition Review (“GCR”) for the 2024 edition of the GCR 100.
GCR noted that Compass Lexecon “continues to set the standard for competition economics consultancies” and boasts “the world’s largest dedicated team of antitrust economists”, with 712 specialists located across its 21 offices. GCR also noted “With 67 nominees in Who’s Who Legal: Competition, the firm stands out in both size and quality”.
During the latest GCR 100 research window, Compass Lexecon advised on 152 merger-related matters globally, including Amazon’s $8.5 billion acquisition of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Microsoft/Activision Blizzard, among many other high-profile deals.
Compass Lexecon also worked on 363 antitrust litigation matters, exceeding its previous year figure of 341, including advice to Delta Air Lines and United Airlines in a US class action brought by air travellers, and a £10.2 billion interchange fee class action on behalf of Walter Merricks against Mastercard before the UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal.
The GCR 100 is an independent, comprehensive listing of the world’s best competition practices based on quantitative and qualitative analyses. Each entrant is assessed based on several criteria, including the number of dedicated antitrust economists, the number of affiliated economists in Who’s Who Legal: Competition and – most importantly – its work on competition matters over the past year.
