Compass Lexecon has been ranked again in the top “Elite” tier of competition economics consulting firms by the Global Competition Review (“GCR”) for the 2025 edition of the GCR 100.

GCR noted that Compass Lexecon “stands at the forefront of competition economics” and is “richly resourced with hundreds of competition specialists”, with more than 700 competition economists, including 11 professionals receiving highest recognition as Global Elite Thought Leader by Lexology Index.

During the latest GCR 100 research window, Compass Lexecon advised on 184 merger-related matters globally, including Broadcom’s $69 billion acquisition of VMware; Viasat’s $7.3 billion acquisition of Inmarsat; Hitachi Rail’s acquisition of Thales’ railway signalling business; and the $43 billion acquisition of Seagan by Pfizer, among many other high-profile deals.

Compass Lexecon also worked on 467 antitrust litigation matters, including advice to glass manufacturer Corning in an Article 102 TFEU investigation by the European Commission, and testimony on behalf of Google before the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia following a claim by the US DoJ that Google monopolized key digital advertising technologies (‘ad tech stack’).

The GCR 100 is an independent, comprehensive listing of the world’s best competition practices based on quantitative and qualitative analyses. Each entrant is assessed based on several criteria, including the number of dedicated antitrust economists, the number of affiliated economists in Lexology: Competition and – most importantly – its work on competition matters over the past year.
