Compass Lexecon Client Riverside Health System Wins Request for a Certificate of Public Need for New Hospital

Dr. Nathan Wilson and Compass Lexecon were retained by Riverside Health System to provide economic analysis in support of their plan to build a new hospital in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Compass Lexecon developed analyses demonstrating that the new hospital would lead to greater healthcare access for nearby residents and increase competition between healthcare systems in the area. Dr. Wilson testified to these findings in a Virginia Department of Health hearing in December 2021. In March 2022, the Interim State Health Commissioner announced the approval of Riverside’s requested certificate of public need.
