In addition, Dr. Avinash Verma, John Hirshleifer, and John Haut, all formerly with CRA, will serve as Vice Presidents. Also from CRA, James Tam will come on board as a Senior Economist. Finally, Dr. Mike Smith, currently a Senior Vice President in Compass Lexecon’s Los Angeles - Century City office, will be splitting his time between Pasadena and Century City to help coordinate the new office’s growth. Our downtown Los Angeles office, led by Dr. Duncan Cameron, will relocate to the new Pasadena office in February to combine our existing competition practice with our new west coast finance practice. We are especially excited to further build our finance expertise and better serve the needs of our clients.
Dan Fischel, Chairman and President of Compass Lexecon, commented “The significant addition of Brad Cornell to Compass Lexecon’s finance practice will only further strengthen our securities expertise. Like Compass Lexecon, Brad has provided testimony and expert analysis in many of the largest and most widely publicized finance related cases in the United States since the 1980s. He and his team are an excellent fit to continue to strengthen this core area of our practice.”
Dr. Cornell said “I’m proud to affiliate with the Compass Lexecon finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for me to partner in the development of the firm’s finance practice on the west coast while having access to Compass Lexecon’s existing finance practice in Chicago and New York. I have long admired Dan Fischel and Compass Lexecon as they’ve pioneered the application of financial theory as it applies to securities litigation.”
