Andy Parkinson is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in London.
Andy has over 15 years of experience advising clients on the economics of competition law cases. Andy is listed in Who’s Who Legal: Competition Economists 2021 and 2022, and was recognized as a “Future Leader” in Competition Economics by Who’s Who Legal from 2018 to 2020; the 2020 publication describes him as “excellent […] a really strong economist who peers and clients highly rate for his advice on competition damages claims”.
Andy has extensive experience in merger cases before the European Commission and national authorities, including several Phase 2 cases (such as Bayer/Monsanto, Halliburton/Baker Hughes, Ryanair/Aer Lingus, Universal/EMI, and Unilever/Sara Lee Personal Care before the European Commission, and NortonLifeLock / Avast, JD Sports/Footasylum, Thermo Fisher/Gatan, and Kerry/Headland before the CMA) and many others approved at Phase 1.
Andy has also advised on private damages litigation before the UK High Court and elsewhere arising from cartels and abuses of dominance; on investigations of abuse of dominance before the European Commission; and on market investigations before the UK CMA and South African authorities.
He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London (UCL), where he specialized in industrial organization, and an M.A. (Cantab) in Economics from Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.
