António Freitas

Dr. Antonio Freitas is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.

Antonio is experienced in applying economic analysis in the quantification of damages, energy markets regulation and in arbitration processes in the gas and electricity sectors in Spain.

Among other projects, Antonio has supported experts in drafting reports and giving oral testimony in the context of disputes related to damages in international arbitrations, gas price review arbitrations, and related to changes in the Spanish energy market regulation. Antonio has participated in the due diligence of energy regulated assets and in estimating the cost of capital for electricity and gas distribution tariff reviews in Spain and Portugal.

Antonio holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Lisbon and a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Economic Analysis from the Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain,) where he specialized in the fields of Industrial Organization and Regulation.
