Benjamin Klein

Benjamin Klein is a Senior Consultant with Compass Lexecon. He also is Professor Emeritus of Economics at UCLA. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Klein has consulted extensively on antitrust issues and has made numerous presentations to state, federal and foreign regulatory agencies and courts. A Professor of Economics at UCLA since 1968, he has taught at the Economics Institute for Federal Judges and has served as a consultant to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Dr. Klein has published widely on antitrust, contract and intellectual property issues, making landmark economic contributions in the area of vertical restraints and the economics of the firm. His work has appeared in leading journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Antitrust Law Journal and the Supreme Court Economic Review. Dr. Klein received a B.A. in 1964 from the City University of New York and an M.A. in 1966 and Ph.D. in 1970 from the University of Chicago. He has held visiting appointments at the University of Washington, the National Bureau of Economic Research and the University of Chicago Law School.
