Carlos Noton is a Senior Consultant at Compass Lexecon, based in Santiago, Chile.
Carlos Noton is an Assistant Professor in the School of Management at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and former Vice President at Compass Lexecon.
Dr. Noton is an expert in applied econometrics and bargaining models. He has extensive experience using economic analysis and econometric techniques to assess different pricing and promotion policies, competitive effects of vertical integration, price discrimination, damage assessment of cartels, breach of contract, and demand estimations. His analyses have covered a wide range of industries, including retail, beverages, beer, gasoline, coffee, packaged goods, energy, and Cable TV. Dr. Noton has testified before Tribunal de Defensa de Libre Competencia (Chilean Court specialized in Competition).
Dr. Noton has published papers on bargaining in the retail industry, vertical integration in healthcare markets, dynamic effects of price promotions, food labeling, and consumer behavior. His publications have been awarded the best paper published at the International Journal of Industrial Organization and Quantitative Marketing and Economics, besides publishing in other leading outlets such as the Economic Journal, Management Science and Marketing Science. He was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick (UK) and the University of Chile. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California Berkeley and a MA in Economics from the University of Chile. He has taught MA programs and the MBA at the University of Warwick, University of Chile, the Catholic University in Peru.
