Daryl is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Singapore.
Daryl has extensive experience in competition economics and has been involved in a wide range of competition matters since joining the industry in 2017, with a focus on merger control. Daryl’s work focuses on providing economic support and analysis to competition and antitrust proceedings.
Daryl has advised on cases across multiple jurisdictions, including the European Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the US Department of Justice, the Hong Kong Competition Commission, and other national authorities in Asia, the Middle East, and South America. Daryl has extensive experience in merger control and has experience in cases involving the abuse of market power, damages litigation, international arbitration, and cartel investigation. Daryl’s work has covered a range of industries including digital platforms, energy, entertainment and media, financial products, healthcare, manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods, and transportation.
Daryl was involved in the merger proceedings for Uber/Postmates (online restaurant food delivery), INEOS/BP (chemicals), Boeing/Embraer (aviation industry manufacturers), Praxair/Linde (industrial and medical gas), BorgWarner/Delphi (automotive part manufacturers), Energizer/Spectrum (consumer batteries, chargers and lighting products), and Sedgwick/Cunningham Lindsey (loss adjusting), among others. Daryl is also involved in damages estimation for a heavy truck manufacturer in the context of litigation proceedings.
Daryl holds an MSc in Economics from University College London, and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Daryl is proficient in statistical packages such as Stata and has experience with upstream database management using SQL and Google BigQuery.
