Hongjun Zhong

Dr. Hongjun Zhong is an Academic Affiliate with Compass Lexecon and Professor of Strategy and Economics and the Director of the Faculty Development Center at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics’s College of Business.

Dr. Zhong’s current research focuses on digital economics and platform markets, innovation strategy, industry policy, and venture capital. A well-published author, Dr. Zhong has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and popular outlets such as Caixin, Caijing, FT Chinese, Forbes, and Competition Policy International Asia.

Dr. Zhong has worked with several international consultancies and is the Co-Founder of the Industry Internet Association. As a teacher and researcher in strategy and entrepreneurship, he is also the founding partner of Ruyi Capital, a venture capital firm focused on the education and internet fields. Dr. Zhong has also held positions at the University of Oxford (where he also received his PhD), Nuffield College, and Peking University.
