Istvan Barati

Istvan is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Istvan has been involved in several high-profile cases across a range of competition matters, including mergers, abuses of dominance, cartels, and international arbitration before the European Commission, the CMA, the Competition Commission of South Africa, and other national authorities and courts.

Istvan has advised clients on a number of high profile Phase II mergers, including NVIDIA/Arm, Aon/Willis Tower Watson, and London Stock Exchange/Refinitiv. He has experience across a wide range of industries, with a focus on technology, digital platforms, telecommunications, insurance brokerage, aviation, mining, and petrochemicals.

Istvan received his MSc in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University, where he specialized in industrial organization and econometrics. He speaks English, Italian, and Hungarian.
