Jonathan F. Foster

Jonathan F. Foster is a senior consultant with Compass Lexecon. He is the founder and managing director of Current Capital Partners LLC. Jon has spent more than 30 years primarily as an investment banker, corporate director and private equity investor focused largely on industrial and business services companies. He is also an experienced expert witness in corporate litigation. Jon spent most of his investment banking career at Lazard, ultimately as a Managing Director, focused on mergers and acquisitions and financial sponsors. He has served on some 35 boards of directors; as chairman, as well as headed audit, compensation and governance committees for smaller private companies to companies being restructured to several Fortune 500 companies. His private equity background includes serving as a Managing Director and member of the Management and Executive Committees at Cypress Group, a $3.5 billion private equity firm, and as Executive Vice President at Revolution Living, part of the investment effort established by Steve Case, the Co-Founder of AOL. Jon speaks and writes regularly on mergers and acquisitions, finance and governance issues.

He earned his BBA in Accounting from Emory University and his MSc in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science. He has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and the University of California, Berkeley.
