Malte is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Berlin.

Malte is member of the European energy practice.

He specializes in regulatory and market design within the electricity and gas sector, combining quantitative modelling and econometric methods with strategic and regulatory analysis. His assignments include working with network operators, utilities, investors, associations, and regulatory bodies on all aspects ranging from investment support to advances in regulatory frameworks. Notably, he contributed to the development of a future electricity distribution grid tariff in Luxembourg, assessed the investment requirements for Vienna's decarbonization goals by 2040, and conducted multiple commercial and regulatory due diligence projects across Europe.

Malte brings four years of professional experience as a consultant in the energy sector, as well as from various research institutes, the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the transmission system operator TenneT. He holds a Master of Science in Political Economy from the University of Konstanz.
