Mehmet Ekmekci
Senior Consultant
Mehmet Ekmekci is a Senior Consultant with Compass Lexecon. He is also a Professor of Economics at Boston College. Previously, he was on the faculty at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Professor Ekmekci is an expert in industrial organization, platform economics, auction design and AI. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.
Professor Ekmekci has served as an expert in various matters of auction design and competitive procurements for satellite broadband. He has also consulted on mergers and investigations in a wide variety of industries, including semiconductor, computer hardware, telecommunication, and internet platforms. In Standard Essential Patents (“SEP”) cases, he has developed economic models to analyze the optimal licensing practice from a social welfare perspective. He has received multiple grants in AI, including the use of algorithms to determine pricing and potential collusion. His research on platform economics studies the effect of competition and regulation in platform markets.
His research has been accepted by leading outlets, including American Economic Review, Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies and Management Science.
