Nadine Watson

Nadine Watson is a Senior Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid. 

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego and an MA in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá.

Nadine has more than 20 years of experience in the application of economic analysis and econometrics in the context of the quantification of damages in follow-on proceedings and the assessment of effects and efficiencies in mergers (e.g., UPS/TNT) and antitrust cases (e.g., airline ticket distribution). She has advised clients in a wide range of sectors including auto parts, automobiles, cement, digital platforms, FMCG, healthcare, manufacturing, medical devices, paper and packaging, petroleum derivatives, pharmaceuticals, retail in industrial products, telecommunications, satellite services and transport.

She has given expert testimony before the European Commission, the International Court of Arbitration, the Finnish, Portuguese, Romanian, Ukrainian and Colombian competition authorities and before the Portuguese and Spanish courts.

Nadine has a strong interest in the application of quantitative tools in assessment of new issues in competition policy such as sustainability benefits and effects of competition on labour markets.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon she worked four years in the Competition Policy group at NERA and seven years in the European Competition practice at LECG. She also worked at the Bank of Spain, the Banco de la República of Colombia, and the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. She has published articles in journals including the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Journal of Competition Law & Economics and is listed in the Who’s Who Legal: Thought Leaders in Competition and Who’s Who Legal: Competition Economists.
