Raquel Carrasco is an Academic Affiliate at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.
Professor Raquel Carrasco earned her Master in Economics and Finance from the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financiaeros (CEMFI) and her Ph.D. from the
Universidad de Alcalá and CEMFI. She teaches Microeconometrics and Applied Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her academic research focuses on the estimation of microeconomic models using policy evaluation and panel data methods with applications to labor, industrial and family economics.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Raquel acted as an independent consultant for Spanish and non-Spanish firms. She served as Vice-Dean of the Economics Degree of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the UC3M from 2012 to 2017 and was a member of the Editorial Board of SERIEs, Journal of the Spanish Economic Association (2010-2015), of the Council of the Spanish Economic Association (2008-2010), and of the Assistant Committee of the ANEP (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva) (2008-2010). She was also Associate Editor of the Spanish Economic Review (2006-2009) and of Investigaciones Económicas (2008-2009).
Professor Carrasco has published more than 20 papers in top journals including the Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economics Statistics, Economic Journal, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Economic Inquiry, and Applied Economics among others. Almost all of her publications have a higher number of citations than the average number of JCR citations in the area of Economics.
