Steven R. Peterson

Steve Peterson is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. He specializes in the economics of antitrust and competition, estimation of damages, and regulation and public policy. He has worked for clients in a wide variety of industries including transportation, software, entertainment, semiconductors, chemicals and energy.

Dr. Peterson has provided consulting and expert witness testimony on a range of topics including antitrust, mergers, patent misuse, damages, and class certification. In his antitrust work, Dr. Peterson has consulted with clients engaged in negotiations with the U.S. Department of Justice and customers to resolve allegations of price-fixing in both the United States and Europe. He has provided testimony on damages matters in antitrust cases and commercial disputes.  Dr. Peterson has also testified regarding competition and royalty rates for musical performances.

Dr. Peterson has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. with highest honors in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
