Verdi Choo is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Singapore.

Verdi has advised on mergers and antitrust investigations before the European Commission and other competition authorities in APAC and the Americas, covering matters in the energy, insurance, media, semiconductors, technology, telecommunications, and transport industries.

He has extensive experience advising on merger cases globally. In recent years, he has advised on Broadcom/VMWare and True/DTAC before various APAC authorities, as well as PKN/Orlen and E.ON/Innogy before the European Commission.

In the context of antitrust investigations and litigation proceedings, Verdi has provided economic advice on damage estimations, abuse of dominance claims, and cartel investigations. He has also advised on intellectual property disputes regarding standard essential patents.

Verdi’s regional experience includes advising on cases before authorities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, India, and Thailand.

Verdi holds a BSc (Honours degree) in Economics from the University of Warwick.
